DCC ARE IN TROUBLE AS WE HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO FIELD A TEAM ON TWO OCCASIONS.

THERE APPEARS TO BE A LACK OF INTEREST IN PRACTISING OR PLAYING . IT IS VERY DISAPPOINTING FOR THOSE FEW MEMBERS WORKING ON THE GROUND AND BEHIND THE SCENES TO OBSERVE THE INERTIA IN THE CLUB.

A BIG CHANGE IN ATTITUDE IS NEEDED TO TURN THINGS AROUND.

DONAGHADEE ARE ALSO HAVING DIFFICULTIES ALONG WITH PSNI ,DUNMURRY ,  AND DUNGANNON have ALL HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO FIELD TEAMS THIS SEASON .SO MUCH FOR THE STRENGTH OF IRISH CRICKET

******  PSNI    WITHDRAWN FROM LEAGUE .

WHO IS THE NEXT TO GO?

SCHOOL EXAMS ARE MAKING LIFE DIFFICULT FOR SUMMER SPORT.

EXTERNAL EXAMS IN FORM 3,4,5,6L,6U !!!!!!!! Players are no longer willing to give 10+ hours on one or possibly two days on a weekend. It does not suit the modern lifestyle. wake up NCU

Dungannon  managed to field 2 teams on Sat and 1 on Sun. 1st XI lost to Donaghadee and to Clogher . Andrew Homes scoring 78 against Clogher and Gareth Lucas took 4 wkts against Donaghadee and 3 against Clogher. The 1sts had to field for over 20 overs with 9 men.

2nds lost to Waringstown 3 by 8 wkts . Started wiith 6 until RSD schoolboys arrived. Both these games were in Dungannon and there were only two adults on the 2nds team. There may be trouble ahead

1stXI lost to Laurelvale.Dungannon weakened as veteran all rounder Chris Adrain was unavailable as he has been unwell during and since the Clogher match

Still little cricket as game after game is rained off.

Still no cricket 7th July .Park is becoming more and more waterlogged. It needs probably 3 dry hot days to have any chance of playing. Victoria off , Dungannon Park waterlogged.

14th July Larne1 off as Park square and outfield are still saturated after heavy rain during the week ,very unfortunate as Saturday was dry.

The club extends its deepest sympathy to Steve Forsythe and family on the death of his mother.

DCC IN TROUBLE ,

1stXI COULD ONLY FIELD 8 MEN AGAINST CREGAGH INCLUDING 74 YEAR OLD ,BILLY ADRAIN, ONLY THREE 1sts TEAM PLAYERS AVAILABLE AVAILABLE.

2ndXI WITHDRAWN FROM LEAGUE.

CLOGHER WITHDRAWN FROM LEAGUE INDICATING THE STATE OF ULSTER CRICKET.

Dungannon 's troubled season continues as only 3 starred players turn out in a 10 man team against Donaghadee losing by 6 wkts . Chris Adrain took 3 wkts and had two catches dropped.

The troubled season continues with losses to Ards and Larne. 11 players have been fielded in two games this season and only 3 stared playing in the last 2 games. Billy Adrain ,74 , has had to play to make up 8 against Cregagh, 10 v Ards and 11 v Larne taking 2 wkts v Larne. Jeff Meeke at last found some form against Larne with 59no. young Jack Milligan also played a promising innings. Unfortunarely Chris Adrain has not had much luck this season and has had his worst season in many years. Chris has been the only  bowler available in most matches and the bowling attack is the weakest for many years.

18 Aug. pitch unplayable. water removed from outfield but pitch was was like plastacine. Cregagh match called off.

19 Aug. pitch just playable with ball leaving 3" divits . Ards out bowled and outbatted Dun and won easily helped by the usual dropped catches, heading for the worst season in club's history, (zero wins )

23 Aug. heavy rain Sat must be very doubtful. 25Aug. Victoria off due to heavy midweek rain.

29 Aug. square and outfield waterlogged with pools dotted over both .  Another possible wash out .

01/09 Dunmurry off ,waterlogged ground.

09/09 DUNGANNON DEFEAT FELLOW STRUGGLERS DUNMURRY BY 6 WKTS WITH CHRIS ADRAIN FINDING FORM SCORING 35no AND TAKING 3 WKTS. TO RECORD THE FIRST WIN OF THE SEASON ON THE FIELD ADDING TO THE WIN AGAINST LARNE WHO FIELDED AN UNREGISTERED PLAYER..

16/09 CREGAGH HAVE 10 WKT WIN AFTER DUNGANNON DROP 5   CATCHES IN 20/20 IN A WET DUNGANNON PARK.

THIS SHOULD MEAN PROMOTION FOR CREGAGH WITH DUNGANNON FINISHING SECOND BOTTOM ABOVE DUNMURRY

2012 HAS BEEN THE MOST DIFFICULT SEASON IN THE CLUB'S  HISTORY WITH ONLY ONE VICTORY ON THE FIELD MATCHING THAT OF 1968 AND 1979 SEASONS AND THE 2ndXI HAVING TO BE TERMINATED FOR THE FIRST TIME SINCE STARTING UP IN 1959. THE COST OF KEEPING THE CLUB IN EXISTANCE FIELDING ONE SIDE MAY BECOME PROHIBITIVE AND THE AVAILABILITY OF PLAYERS HAS BECOME A BIGGER AND BIGGER PROBLEM OVER THE LAST FEW YEARS .

HOPEFULLY PAST PLAYERS WILL RISE TO THE CHALLANGE AND A NEW GROUP OF ENTHUSIASTIC SCHOOLBOYS WILL EMERGE FROM THE GLOOM TO HELP THE SMALL GROUP OF MEMBERS TRYING TO KEEP THE CLUB AFLOAT. WE ARE STRUGGLING WHEN 74 YEAROLD BILLY ADRAIN HAS TO PLAY TO  MAKE UP AN 8 PLAYER  TEAM AND THEN BOWL IN ANOTHER MATCH TAKING TWO WICKETS.

IT WAS A POOR START TO  DES BURROWES'S PRESIDENCY.

DES WAS A PLAYING MEMBER FROM 1949 TO 1991 SCORING

4054 RUNS IN 350 GAMES
