Dungannon struggled for most of the time with Chris Adrain outstanding. He captained the team for most of the time , scoring 2637 runs and taking 126 wickets . These terrific efforts helped to keep the club going as some younger players began to come through. This culminated with the 1st XI winning the league and the 2nd XI finishing second in 1999. The success was short lived as relegation followed in the 2000 season.
In 1996 he played 19 matches scoring 873 runs including three centuries, taking 37 wickets and bowled 178 overs as captain.
