Dungannon Park outfield after" COUNTRYFEST" ,2nd,3rd Aug.2008,ORGANISED BY DUNGANNON COUNCIL.

a BRILLIANT EXAMPLE OF HOW TO DICOURAGE  A CRICKET CLUB.

NO MORE HOME CRICKET THIS SEASON FOR DUNGANNON CRICKET CLUB

The photos tell the tale of incompelance. The club expressed its reservations of running the event because of the use of heavy lorries on a sports ground but the Council knew best,. The result is that DCC ,the local football clubs and the general public will not be able to use the playing fields for recreation in the near future. Heavy rain made sure the event was extremely successful in destroying the outfield

Hopefully they may be available next year.

Events like this threaten the existence of cricket in the town 143 years after the club was founded.

The repair bill will be £100,000s

Thankfully the square was well protected following the damage caused by a previous event and suffered no damage.

We may be able to play next season if repair work can be carried out immediately but that must entail ploughing, levelling, drainage and seeding.

WE HOPE FOR THE BEST.

This was a memorable 60th Anniversary Present from the Council the club being reformed in 1948.
